Soft Homemade Cheese Bread with Mozzarella – Easy Oven-Baked Recipe

Ingredients
  

  • 250 g flour
  • 5 g instant yeast
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 1/2 cup warm milk
  • 1 egg
  • spring onions
  • grated mozzarella

Instructions
 

  • In a bowl mix together flour, yeast, salt and sugar.
  • mix in melted butter and warm milk.
  • Add a beaten egg and mix.
  • Transfer to a floured surface and knead the dough until no longer sticks to you hands by adding flour if necessary, about 5 minutes.
  • Shape into a ball, transfer to a tray.
  • Cover ant let it rest for 1 hour.
  • Transfer back to a floured surface.
  • With a rolling pin open the dough to form a circle about a finger thick.
  • Score the dough with each score about a thumb apart both horizontally and across.
  • Brush with melted butter and chopped spring onions.
  • Then fill the scoring with mozzarella cheese.
  • Transfer back to a tray and bake in hot oven 220C | 428F for about 25 minutes.
