How to Make Turkish Milk Dessert Rolls – Easy and Elegant Recipe

Today we're making a Turkish milk dessert roll that’s creamy, elegant, and surprisingly easy to prepare. Made with just a few ingredients like milk, cornstarch, and coconut, this treat looks like a fancy ice cream roll and is perfect for impressing guests or enjoying a light dessert.

Equipment

  • 1 Hand Mixer
  • Plastic film

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cup milk
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • dried coconut
  • sliced almonds
  • pistachios

Wiped Cream

  • 1/2 cup fresh cream
  • 1 tbsp powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla

Instructions
 

  • In a pot add milk, sugar and cornstarch.
  • Cook on medium high until thickens, then add butter and mix until butter is melted.
  • Set aside to cool down.
  • Line a 20x30cm tray with baking paper.
  • Sprinkle about handful of dried coconut over the baking paper.
  • Transfer the cooked milk mixture and level all up to cover the tray.
  • Refrigerate for 1 hour.

Wiped Cream

  • Add fresh cream, sugar and vanilla to a cold bowl.
  • Beat with a hand mixer until it firms up.
  • Layer it over the refrigerated milk mixture and refrigerate for another 2 hours.

Assembly

  • Transfer the milk mixture to a layer of plastic film with wiped cream side facing down.
  • Add sliced almonds.
  • Roll tightly into a log and sprinkle more coconut over it.
  • Wrap it well with plastic film and refrigerate for another hour.
  • Remove plastic and decorate with chopped pistachios.
  • Slice it and serve cold.
