Easy Homemade Churros Recipe – Crispy Outside, Soft Inside!

Equipment

  • 1 Pipping bag with star end
  • 1 hand held mixer

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup water
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • oil for cooking

Coating

  • sugar
  • cinnamon

Instructions
 

  • In a bot mix water, butter, sugar and salt and bring to a boil.
  • Once starts to boil reduce he heat.
  • Add the flour and quickly mix so the flour is fully cooked.
  • Remove and let it cool for a few minutes.
  • Transfer to a bowl and add vanilla and egg.
  • Beat with a hand held mixer until fully incorporated.

Coating

  • Mix sugar and cinnamon and set aside.

Frying the Churros

  • Heat up oil in a shallow pan.
  • Use a piping bag using a star shape end.
  • Pipe it over the hot oil and cut with a pair of scissors when its about 20cm long.
  • Fry until nice and golden.
  • Remove the excess oil and coat with sugar and cinnamon.
