Crispy Air Fryer Pork Belly with Asian-Style Sauce

Equipment

Ingredients
  

  • 300 g pork belly
  • vinegar
  • salt

Sauce

  • 3 garlic cloves
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 tbsp chilli paste
  • 1 tbsp fish sauce
  • 3 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • water
  • Fresh Basil optional

Instructions
 

  • cook the pork belly in boiling water for 10-15 minutes.
  • once cooked let it cool down to touch.
  • using a fork pierce all the skin, more you pierce crispier will get.
  • mix vinegar and salt in a bowl.
  • rub some of the salt and vinegar on the pork belly skin.
  • place the pork belly skin down on the salt vinegar bowl. You want the skin and fat submerged only.
  • Leave it for about 10-15 minutes.
  • Turn on your air fryer at 200C | 392F.
  • Using skewers line the 3 pieces of port belly together and place in the Air fryer
  • Cook for 45 minutes or until crisp.

Preparing the Sauce

  • Mix together fish sauce, oyster sauce, sugar and a little water and set aside
  • Add oil, garlic and chilli paste to a pan and cook until fragrant.
  • Add the pork belly and prepared sauce.
  • Mix well to coat the pork belly with the sauce and cook for a minute.
