Portuguese Savory Pie (Torta Portuguesa) – Easy Baked Recipe with Creamy Filling
Equipment
- 1 28cm Round False Bottom Baking Tray
Ingredients
Dough Base
- 2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup olive oil
- 2 eggs
- 2 tbsp reduced cream
- 3 cup flour
- 3 tbsp parmesan cheese
- 2 tsp salt
- 2 tsp baking powder
Filling
- 1/2 onion sliced
- 1/2 red pepper sliced
- 1/2 cup olives sliced
- 3 boiled eggs
- 1 cup grated mozzarella
- 1 chorizo diced
- 1/4 cup sweet corn
- 1/4 cup green peas
- hand full of cherry tomatoes
- olive oil
Instructions
Dough Base
- In a blender mix together, milk, eggs, olive oil, parmesan, salt.
- Add half of the flour and mix to combine.
- Add 1 tsp of baking powder and mix again.
- In a bowl add the remaining flour and the last tsp of baking powder.
- Transfer the mix dough from the blender and combine with the flour mix in the bow until smooth.
Filling
- Boil the eggs for 5 minutes, slice and set aside.
- Butter and flour the baking tray.
- Place the sliced eggs and pepper against the side of the tray.
- Then slowly pour in the dough.
- Spread the remaining ingredients over the dough.
- Finish with cherry tomatoes and parmesan.
- Drizzle olive oil over it.
- Bake in hot oven 180C | 350F for approximately 35-40 minutes.
