
Authentic Bakery-Style Pastry Cream Recipe – Easy and Delicious
This traditional bakery-style pastry cream recipe is simple to prepare with just a few basic ingredients. It’s rich, creamy, and perfect as a filling for cakes, tarts, or other delicious desserts.

- 1 Mixing bowl
- 1 pot
Ingredients
- 500 ml milk
- 6 tbsp sugar
- pinch salt
- 2 1/2 tbsp cornflour
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 3 egg yolks
- 1 egg
- 3 tbsp butter
Instructions
- In a mix bowl combine egg yolks, eggs, sugar, cornflour and a pinch of salt.
- Whisk it to form a cream and set aside.
- In a pot bring milk to a boil.
- Once milk has boiled slowly pour half of it over the cream mixture whisking it quickly to combine.
- Transfer the mixture to the pot with the remaining milk.
- Over mediam heat whisk it for about 1-2 minutes to form a thicker cream.
- Remove from heat, add butter and vanilla extract while still hot and mix until the butter is fully incorporated.
- Transfer to a bowl, cover it with plastic film just touch the cream and refrigerate it.
