Soft Apple Cinnamon Bread Rolls – Easy Homemade Recipe
These soft apple cinnamon rolls are the perfect weekend bake! With a sweet apple filling and a soft, fluffy dough, this recipe is comforting, aromatic, and incredibly delicious. Easy to make and even better to eat!
Equipment
- 1 Rolling Pin
- 1 cake pan with removable bottom
Ingredients
Dough
- 400 g flour
- 7 g instant yeast
- 2 tsp sugar
- 1 egg
- 150 ml warm milk
- 60 ml oil
- 80 g sugar
- lemon rind
Filling
- 2 apples
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 tbsp cinnamon
Optionals
- confectionary sugar for dusting
- cinnamon
- lemon zest
Instructions
- In a bowl mix together flour, sugar, yeast and lemon rind.
- Mix in warm milk and beaten egg.
- Add the remaining sugar mix until fully incorporated to the dough.
- Then add the oil and mix again.
- Transfer to a floured bench and knead until no longer sticks to your hands.
- Shape into a ball, transfer back to the bowl cover and let it rest for 1 hour in a warm place.
Filling
- Peel and chop the apples.
- Mix with sugar and cinnamon in a bowl and set aside.
Putting all together
- Roll the rested dough into a long rectangle about 1/2cm thick.
- Spread the prepared apple.
- Roll it tightly into a log.
- Cut it in 12 pieces.
- Place each piece cut side facing up in a round removable bottom tray, oiled and lined with baking paper.
- Bake in hot oven 180C | 356F for about 35 minutes.
- Once baked, let it cool down, remove from the tray and dust it with sugar, cinnamon and lemon zest.
